Product description AGV X3000

The AGV X3000 is a modern version AGV full face helmet based on the racing helmet of the Italian racing legend from the 60s and 70s, Giacomo Agostini. At AGV they have copied the racing helmet, of multi-world champion Agostini, with this design. That was AGV’s first full face helmet that they designed in collaboration with Agostini. With the technological development of AGV this retro helmet is elevated to the quality level of today, in terms of safety and comfort. The outer shell of the X3000 comes in 3 sizes. This makes the helmet very compact with an optimal fit. Furthermore, the X3000 has a specifically shaped chin part, on special request from Agostini at the time. The helmet is also available as a Limited Edition Replica of the Agostini racing helmet. The weight of the X3000 helmet is around 1350 grams. Comparable helmets in the retro segment are the Shoei Glamster, Arai Concept-X, Bell Bullit Carbon, Bell Eliminator and the HJC V90

Safety AGV X3000

The X3000 helmet is made of fiberglass, this is a very strong, durable and lightweight material. This helmet is equipped with a double-D closure, the best available at the moment. The inner shell consists of different densities of EPS, to absorb impact optimally. The inner shell also comes in 3 different sizes.

Ventilation AGV X3000

The ventilation in this helmet is simple but very efficient. By means of a rubber piece, you can choose to open or close the ventilation opening on the visor. The rubber seal can then be stored in the lining of the helmet in the designated area, to prevent loss. The helmet has ventilation channels that run over the top of the head. This gives wonderful cooling on the warmer days.

Visor AGV X3000

This helmet is equipped with an anti-scratch clear visor, which you can easily replace. Depending on the preference, there are also other colors of visors available. The visor can be set at different positions. This is nice when you want more ventilation. Furthermore, the visor is airtight and waterproof, which is surprising for a retro helmet. The visor has a magnetic closure on the left side of the helmet.

Lining AGV X3000

The lining consists of suede material that is finished with genuine leather. The lining feels wonderfully soft and comfortable. The lining is pushed into the shell at the front, so you do not feel any pressure points on your head. The lining is removable, washable and breathable.

How heavy should a motorcycle helmet be?
Motorcycle helmets generally weigh between 1.2 to 1.9 kilos (3 to 4 pounds). The weight varies depending on the helmet type and materials used. Usually, the lighter a helmet is, the better. A heavy the helmet will put more strain on the neck and will tirer the neck quicker. So the lighter the better, but the downside is that lightweight materials such as carbon and fiberglass composites cost more.
Besides this, modular helmets usually are heavier than full-face helmets due to their flip-up mechanism. For modular helmets you’re usually looking at 1400 up to 2000 grams. Healmets that have additional features such as an internal sunvisor will also add to the weight.  Open-face helmets tend to be the lightest helmet category. Quality brands will typically use more expensive material and be lighter.

You can technically put stickers on motorcycle helmets as it won’t compromise its ability to protect your head from impact. However, there are some things to keep in mind. First, avoid placing them over ventilation channels. This will block airflow through your helmet and can make the inside significantly warmer. Second, stickers on your helmet might void your warranty agreement, as modifications are usually not allowed.

You can put stickers on your motorcycle helmets as it won’t compromise its ability to protect your head from impact. Although, one should consider the following factors while putting on helmet stickers:

Avoid placing them over ventilation channels as it will block airflow throughout the helmet and can warm the inside. 
Stickers on your helmet might void your warranty agreement, as modifications might not be allowed depending on the manufacturer’s instructions. 
Be careful with putting anything on your visor as it will significantly reduce your field of view. This could lead to more risk on the road.

How to clean a motorcycle helmet?

Grab a bucket and fill it with warm water and mild soap.
Start by removing the helmet’s inner liner. Most helmet manuals will explain exactly how to do this.
Once every piece of the padding is out, wash them all in water and soap.

Afterward, it’s essential to let each piece dry on its own. Never use anything like a hairdryer or the sun.
Clean the outer shell with a microfiber cloth and the same warm water and soap mixture. Dirt and insects will often engrave into the shell. Place a microfiber cloth over the outer shell and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
