The Revit Astro Motorcycle Shoes are the latest urban sport styled shoe from Revit built for the streets. But, though they are coming with that high street fashion design, these shoes are still bringing a full set of reinforcements in the ankle, heel, sides, and toe, to also make sure that the shoes are coming EN 13634 category 1 certified.
So, with a recommended retail price of about 200 Euros, or 240 USD, the Astro shoes will be competing with the Dainese York, Klim Ridgeline, Alpinestars J-6, and the Icon Truant 2 sneakers.
Material
The Revit Astro Sneakers are primarily composed of Nubuck soft cow leather, which means you’re getting a nice matte finish. However, for summer riding the shoes do come with a large amount of ventilation with perforated nubuck in the sides and 3D air mesh inserts just above the toe on top of the foot to really let the air flow through. Lastly, to keep you a bit more visible, there is a reflective insert in the back and there is a leather shifter pad on top for durability.
Safety
For safety, the Rev’It! Astro Boots are going to be bringing more safety than usual for a casual riding shoe, which is really great to see. Starting at the top, you’re getting an injected ankle cup, then a reinforced side panel, a thermoformed heel cup, and a thermoformed toe cup. While the ankle, heel, and toe reinforcements are generally standard, the addition of the side panel is new and will further help with keeping your feet safe.
Lastly, the urban riding shoes are EN 13634 certified to Level 1, which means they are going to be more lightweight as far as safety, since we’re not seeing that Level 2 mark, though this is very hard to achieve.
Comfort
Moving onto the Rev’It Astro Motorcycle Riding Shoe’s comfort, Revit always do a great job in going the extra mile to make sure you get to keep not just that sneaker style, but the feel as well. Changing it up and starting at the bottom this time, you are getting a rubber outsole with a varied tread that will do well off the bike and will also flex and break in nicely. Underneath this, and on the inside of the bike shoes, Revit have included an Ortholite X40 insole for walking comfort.
For fastening, the Astros, tie up with laces, and to keep that casual style and there is an entry assist pull tab in the back as well.
Inside the shoe, you are getting a leather liner that will give you that premium feel while also being moisture wicking.
Summary
The Revit Astro Leather Shoes are bringing plenty of urban styling alongside a solid level of safety that means you’ll get a nice mix for on and off the bike use.
